BDESK launches work on carbon footprinting
Carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions from goods and services during their production, distribution and use.
In the case of Bolderāja Serviss, the emissions will be calculated taking into account the resources used in production within Scope 1 and Scope 2 (electricity, water, raw materials, etc.).
The methodology also includes scope 3, which includes e.g. investments, product life cycle, employee logistics, etc. . The company plans to calculate scope 3 at a slightly later stage in the future, after the first and second scope have been calculated.
CO2 footprint calculations are complex and complicated, which is why we have chosen BM Certification as our partner who are experts in their field.
These calculations will give us an overview of our performance, indicating where we are within the norm and where we have room for improvement.
It is quite possible that the calculation of the carbon footprint may eventually become an essential or even mandatory assessment point for funders and governments. But our company's main goal is to be aware of our impact on the environment and to care for an even greener tomorrow!

ISO 9001 ISO 14001
In early summer 2023, Bolderāja Serviss signed a cooperation agreement with BM Certification to further develop the company’s integrated management system with industry professionals.
In August this year, the company was recertified for its quality and environmental management systems, which we successfully passed and can continue to work according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

The recertification concluded that the employees activity and commitment to process improvement is highly commendable. The company has implemented the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 to be functional and to help work and improve without unnecessary documentation or other unnecessary responsibilities.
FSC ®
In order to make sure that our products do not have an adverse effect on the environment our production was certified according to FSC® requirements. An official FSC ® certificate (Trademark License Code: FSC-C163028) was issued to Bolderaja Serviss SIA in January of 2021. It proves that all wooden materials used for our produced furniture are coming only from sustainably managed forests. And we are allowed to label our products with the FSC trademark, thus identifying materials obtained from responsible sources.
